Duties and Activities of the ASI

The ASI will perform following activities:
  1. To establish and strengthen the scientific, academic, technical and research relations between the specialists, professionals and organizations whose activities are related to the goals of the Association;

  2. To seek improvement the knowledge and information of the Iranian specialists and professionals and introducing the most recent progresses in this discipline;

  3. To provide the grounds and means for improving and expanding the fundamentals of astronomy in the society and encourage amateur and non-professional astronomy.

  4. To cooperate with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, universities and higher educational institutes for constant evaluation and guiding in educational and research plans and the publications related to this field;

  5. To establish scientific and academic relations with the international astronomy societies and similar associations in other countries;

  6. To hold scientific, academic, educational and research national and international seminars and conferences, to help and cooperate in holding specialized courses and classes;

  7. To publish magazines and journals containing the scientific, technical and research progresses in astronomy and cooperation with the governmental and private organizations for writing, translating and publishing the books and journals related to this field;

  8. To cooperate with private and governmental organizations and higher education institutes to establish observatories, planetariums and research teams and dispatching them to study astronomical events.
